Over the winter we hope to start a number of projects to improve the interior decor and function of the club.
Some of you may have noticed that we have aquired new (used) furniture items including cross back chairs and pedestal tables. The existing Ikea lounge chairs, though comfortable are too big and impractical for the needs of the club. They are available to purchase for the low price of £10 a chair towards our decoration fund.
One central idea is to build a new display cabinet at the entrance to hide all the clutter. This will also hold all our books and become a proper illuminated display for our club trophies.
When this is built we will be able to clear the back corner and by hanging folding doors from the roof beam, create a proper games storage area that can double as the entertainment stage for the club band. Suiitabe doors have already been found for this task.
All of the hard furniture and interior will be repainted and the banquet bench and soft seat pads will be recovered.
The 'theme' for the facelit is fresh and light with an emphasis on natural materials, sisal / Jute rugs and limed / weathered timber. There will be an accent colour that will link everything so the interior will feel more cohesiive.
The following sketches show the visual intent but please bear with us as circumstance and budget may change some details in the building.
